Epidemiology, risk and causation

Report

This report outlines the findings of work looking at conceptual and methodological issues arising from epidemiology, including the nature of causation, methods for causal inference, the nature and communication of risk, the proper use of statistical significance testing, and the social determinants of health.

A workshop to discuss these issues in more detail was  held in London in May 2012.
